I’d add three classic action movies and an overlooked one that hinge heavily on survival in the outdoors are 1) Red Dawn, as the kids escape into the mountains and fend for themselves, 2) Rambo, evading the military in the woods, 3) Predator, playing cat and mouse in the rain forest, and 4) Southern Comfort–Powers Booth running from crazy Cajuns through the Bayou, avoiding various traps and snares, with a soundtrack by Ry Cooder
